# 95 "Snowy Creek"
This pretty little creek is on the way up to Estes Park via Glen Haven and I don't know the real name of it. It was early winter so the creek wasn't frozen yet. I like painting quiet scenes like this. There is actually a lot more going on along the banks than you think at first, which makes these interesting to paint.
I'm getting down to the last five paintings of this project and I've been thinking about my feelings about the project and what I've learned. I jumped into this not really realizing what a big commitment it was going to be, which is pretty much how I go through life in general. Rob Michaels was just in visiting me at my gallery, all dressed in his ski clothes, and it made me think about when you are standing at the top of a black diamond ski slope, if you think about it too much it makes it harder to start down the hill. I had the same sort of feeling when I started this project. I just jumped in. About ten paintings in I felt very overwhelmed and the project became all consuming. After about the twenty fifth painting I was into a routine, but it was one I could not let up on. Now I'm almost at the bottom of the hill with a sense of satisfaction, and relief that I made it. I had a few bumps and obstacles along the way, like two 10 day trips over Thanksgiving and Christmas, but with a little planning I still managed to get a painting posted. Have paints, will travel.
