End of an Era

I've always had an interest in Native American culture. So, when I moved to Colorado, I started doing a little research to do a painting. At that time I wasn't sure what it would be of, but as I read and studied,  I was appalled that in a 25 year span they were either massacred or rounded up and put on reservations, thus ending their nomadic way of life.  In this scene the lone warrior has turned his back on the new day, his stance has a reflective quality, contemplating the End of an Era.
